The Ducal House is sad to announce the call to God of Her Highness Princess Marie-Sophie de Royan, born on 1ST April 1923 in Luxembourg, who died peacefully on 29TH July 29 2023 in Genoa. Her soul, guided by the benevolent hand of the Almighty, left this world to join the eternal kingdom.

Beloved daughter of Prince Arthur de Royan, Duke of Royan (1881-1946), and the late Anne-Marie de Beauregard, Duchess consort of Royan (1887-1980), she inherited the ancestral values of her noble line and the passed on with devotion to future generations.

Her life is marked by a sacred union on July 16, 1947 in New York with Mr. John Morrison (1910-1985), whose memory remains engraved in our hearts. From their love were born two children, Jules and Sarah Morrison, who remain today the guardians of the precious heritage of Princess Marie-Sophie.

Throughout her blessed existence, Princess Marie-Sophie de Royan knew how to embody piety and benevolence, qualities that earned her respect and admiration. Her immeasurable kindness is reflected through her four grandchildren: Christopher, Henry, Alicia and John Jr., witnesses of her unconditional love.

Within her descendants also flourish seven great-grandchildren: Ethan, Noah, Mary, Aiden, Gloria, Evan, Aaron, who thus perpetuate her noble heritage, keeping the flame of her values intact.

Finally, we celebrate the blessing of having two great-great- grandchildren: Evelyn and Benjamin.

The loss of Princess Marie-Sophie de Royan is a profound ordeal for all of us, but we find comfort in the certainty that she now rests in the eternal light of our Lord. Her memory will live on in our hearts for eternity.

In this time of mourning, we pray for the rest of her soul and for the comfort of her bereaved family. The Ducal House, united in sadness, remembers with gratitude her tireless devotion to those most in need and his unfailing love for art.
